Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992 and began an education in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her professional career in commercial seafood in 1999 when she began working on board the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut schooner turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. He has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has been married Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed their respective fields. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of sustainable seafood resources. In 2007, now a mother of two children Bella aged 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale seafood distributor named Otolith. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry and often they are apart for a period of five or more months. That's when they're focused on their environmental and financial targets. Bossard and her children Andre 10, and Isabella 12 each year return to Southeast Alaska as deckhands to catch wild salmon in summer.
